Q: I want to get adjudicated juveniles involved in
rock climbing. I have a double-sided rock wall at
our facility. We are very remote. I would like to
hook up with competitions in our area (New
Mexico), but have no contacts. Also, I am not sure
of the gear I need. We have all the gear for a state
ropes course. We have many good natural rocks
in our close proximity. Any info along these lines
would be very helpful.

getinfo@americanalpineclub.org; www.americanalpineclub.org. They could put you in touch with the ASCF (American Sport Climbing
Federation) which sanctions and organizes rock
climbing competitions throughout the U.S. They could
probably also help you track down other youth-oriented
programs to emulate.
