These are [ancient] negative handprints in Handprint Cave. They were made by someone placing their hand on the wall and then taking a tubeful of pigment or a mouthful of pigment and then blowing that on the wall. ...

They're quite rare. I don't know if they occur anywhere else in the Maya world but certainly nowhere else in Belize.
