image: Joseph Ottie

Joseph Ottie, a self-proclaimed park ranger, holds a Polaroid photo Kaye has just taken of him.

"That guy wanted to be a friend of ours. He was someone we met, showed us some trails. So he rode around in the town with us for a few hours.

"Because the roads are so bad, they don't really see too many tourists, that's how we attracted so many friends. It's not that high-pressure Montego Bay tourism—they kind of just follow you around [in the Blue Mountains]. "
