"As a photographer, I don't want to do what everyone else is doing or what everyone else has done. Here I'm trying to give a sense of place and the sport, and incidentally, the sense of triumph, though I didn't intend it that way.
"This was more of a visual statement of juxtaposition in a scene that had been photographed three billion times, but it's done in a way that I hadn't seen or done before."
