Expedition: Dangerous Archipelago Kayaking French Polynesia's Tuamotu Islands The Team Writer and expedition leader JON BOWERMASTER has written seven books about the remote corners of the world. This is his third National Geographic-sponsored sea kayak expedition; previous adventures took him to the heart of the Aleutian Islands and down the coast of Vietnam. He lives in Stone Ridge, New York. Malibu-based JOHN ARMSTRONG has been making adventure films for the last 20 years. He is currently finishing a film about the history of beaches; his most recent documentary, set in Peru, was Cliff Mummies of the Andes. PETE MCBRIDE has photographed stories for various National Geographic magazines, ranging from recreating the first flight over Africa to exploring the back roads of Cuba. An Aspen, Colorado, native, he is currently based in San Francisco. British-born ALEX NICKS is one of the world's great whitewater kayakers and a budding filmmaker. This will be his first expedition by sea kayak. He lives in San Francisco. WILLIE WILLIAMS currently works with NOLS (National Outdoor Leadership School) program in Baja, Mexico, specializing in teaching and leading sea kayak expeditions. When not in Mexico, he is based in Santa Rosa, California. TERRI NOSTRAND is an environmental science teacher at Coolidge High School in Washington, D.C. Sponsored by the National Geographic Education Foundation, she is the first teacher to accompany a National Geographic Expeditions Council adventure.
