"After high school graduation, my girlfriend and I took a 25-day backpacking trip through Italy, Switzerland, and France. We met a couple in Florence who were raving about Italy's Cinque Terre. Cinque Terre is composed of five coastal villages connected by a trail. This village, Vernazza, was crowded with friendly people on the beach."

DIY:  "The villages of the Cinque Terre are found nestled within the Italian cliffs near La Spezia. The main attraction is the trail that runs between villages. Complete with breathtaking views, the hike between Riomaggiore and Monteroso, with stops at three villages, provides a scenic, invigorating excursion. The fresh seafood and untouched beaches are not to be missed."
