Seanchai Eddie Lenihan, who lives near Galway, is one of Ireland's last and most important tellers of spoken stories and tales of fantastic things. In taking his portrait, I needed to shoot so that his reflective glasses didn't hide his eyes. I chose to photograph him in the shade of a tree, as I liked the wooded context. I felt it was right to show him speaking, too, since that's what he does. By the way, shin kay la lay lay is Irish for "that's another story."
