my decision to do a portrait of this style doesnt fit with the flow of a travel narrative well, but some portraits are better shot with the subject really grounded and looking straight at the lens..  I used a light off camera for this one and the group gave us a hard time about it.  but nobody was going surfing that day so I decided to make it a photo shoot that day...
