Ireland Photo Gallery: The Wild West Coast It's Ireland's Gilded Age! So go on: Surf a mythic 40-foot (12-meter) break, kayak the crystalline coastline, and hike the unmarked wilds. But please, for your own good, don't step in the fairy blood. Photograph by Alex di Suvero
Our guide Dominick Callaghan works at Cork's Apple assembly plant, evidence of Ireland's economic boom of the last decade. To make this picture, I slowed down the shutter speed to blur the movement of his hands. I also used a polarizer to help reduce the reflection of the sky on the water and enhance the blues of the lake. —Contributing Photographer Alex di Suvero
