We were invited to attend a guide course of sea kayaking, taught by Jim (pictured). An indication of the new Irish economy, the government subsidizes students' sea kayaking classes. Universal sea kayaking—progress indeed!  Jim is a champion distance paddler and coach. I shared a tandem with him and my cameras and no dry bag. The day started with snow, but the sun persevered. Here, I was holding my camera backwards, at the water's edge. Knowing the seals on my Canon TK model are able to withstand a salty splash, but not a serious submersion.
