Through a complex solar-powered system of Balog's own design, the mounted camera systems will snap a picture every daylight hour for two years. Here on the Columbia Glacier, Balog's camera unit, one of two near the tidewater giant, captures the scene hours before an enormous calving event (see it in the next photo).
