Inside the Extreme Ice Survey

No one photograph, Balog feels, has ever conveyed the true drama of glacial retreat. The Extreme Ice Survey, he says, is an attempt to "bring back to civilization evidence that radically alters public perception of the global warming issue." These two shots, taken months apart, demonstrate the dramatic seasonal variation of glaciers, increased all the more by climate change.
