Minutes after taking the helm, writer McKenzie Funk discovered a puncture in the raft. Luckily, a quick temporary fix got us back to camp where a meeting of "patch masters" was called. After much prep work of sanding, cutting, and gluing, Funk mastered making the perfect patch—his claim to fame during the trip.
