Photos: The Andes in Overdrive Riding a motorcycle 5,000 miles (8,048 kilometers) along twisting mountain passes through four countries in five weeks presented Argentine photographer Henry von Wartenberg with many spectacular sights. Check out these weird, wondrous images. Compiled by Rachel Scheer
This photo shows vehicles lining up to take part in an old Bolivian tradition where drivers go to the Copacabana cathedral to get their vehicles blessed for safe travels.
Unfortunately, the blessing did not seem to protect Matt's reed boat souvenirs—which you can see on the back of his bike—when we got to the Peru-Chile border. Customs officers said the toy boats could not enter Chile because they had touched vegetables, which are considered contaminated. —Photographer Henry Von Wartenberg
