Trekking to Machu Picchu (the Cool Way)

No crowds. Plush lodges. Jungles, glaciers, and high Andean peaks. The Camino
Salcantay is the savvy traveler's alternative to the Inca Trail. Never before has
the road to ruins been so much fun.   Photograph and text by Brent Stirton

On a trip like this, I wanted to combine huge landscapes with the vibrant culture. One of the ways to do this is through the food. I'm a very conservative eater, though, so a lot of the food was wasted on me, which is a pity. Instead, I feasted on the scenery.
