What are the membership rates for National Geographic magazine?

The dues listed are in U.S. funds except where noted. U.S. state sales tax is applicable for Vermont (5 percent) and Kentucky (6 percent). We can bill you or charge your credit card (Visa or MasterCard). You can also place magazine orders online.

The National Geographic Society does not offer sample or preview issues of its publications.

How do I submit a change of address?

If you are in the United States or Canada, you may call our toll-free number, 800 NGS LINE (800 647 5463). Operators are available Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 12 a.m. ET, and Saturday 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. ET. You may also change your address online for National Geographic magazine, click here. Why do I continue to receive notices after I have already paid for a membership or a subscription?

If you ordered through an agent (such as Publishers Clearing House, American Family Publishers, or New Sub Services), please check with the agent to ensure that your order was received and processed. The agent will handle all customer service issues.

If you ordered directly from us, please note that it takes a few days for a payment to be processed. Therefore, if you receive any invoices after you have already paid, please ignore them.

What if I receive a damaged issue?

If you have received a damaged issue, you need only notify us within a reasonable amount of time and we will be glad to send a replacement. You may contact us through our Magazine Customer Services, Replacing Missed or Damaged Issues, or you may prefer to call us at 800 NGS LINE (800 647 5463) for the US and Canada or +1 813 979 6845 (outside the US and Canada.) If you do not know the exact date of the damaged issue or if the magazine is out of print, we will extend your account for one month to compensate.

If your issue frequently arrives damaged, your mailbox may be too small for the magazine. If this is the case, please try to arrange with your letter carrier to place the magazine in a different area. If your mailbox is sufficiently sized, then check with the post office to see if the magazine arrives in good condition. If it does not, please call customer service at 800 NGS LINE explaining the situation.

What if I’ve missed an issue?

If you’ve missed an issue, we may have an incorrect address on file. To verify that your account is listed correctly in our records, please check your Account Information by going through our Magazine Customer Services site. Once you have confirmed that your account information is correct, you may request a replacement copy of a missed issue by going to Replacing Missed or Damaged Issues. If you prefer, you may call us at 800 NGS LINE (800 647-5463) in the US and Canada or +1 813 979 6845 (outside the US and Canada.)

You may find that your issues have stopped delivery due to non payment. If this is the case, you may submit a Renewal online, send the appropriate payment to the National Geographic Society, P.O. Box 63001, Tampa FL 33663 or your renewal can be place over the phone by calling the appropriate number listed above.

I do not want my name made available to other companies. May I request that here?

Yes, you may e-mail us with exact instructions concerning the use of your name. Please review the Society’s online privacy policy.

Where is my National Geographic magazine account number?

Your account number is located on each billing you receive. It is also listed on each issue’s wrapper above your name. You can also access your account information online, but you will need your account number.

Are National Geographic Society magazines available in large print?

The Society does not publish National Geographic material in large print or any other special editions for the visually handicapped. However, materials published by the Society are regularly selected for reproduction in Braille or recorded form and are distributed through regional programs of the U.S. National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped (lcweb.loc.gov/nls/).

Are foreign-language editions of National Geographic Society magazines available?

The National Geographic Society works with publishers around the world to produce foreign-language editions. Note: English-language subscriptions cannot be exchanged for non-English subscriptions. However, you may cancel a current membership and order a foreign-language edition. Please select the appropriate foreign-language edition shown below for further details:

Once I place an online order for one of the Society’s magazines, how soon can I expect delivery of my first issue?

For delivery in the U.S. and Canada, your first issue should arrive within three to five weeks. For addresses elsewhere, 8-12 weeks will be needed for receipt of initial issues. Once delivery begins on a regular basis, monthly issues should arrive in a routine manner.

Can I submit an online renewal for one of the Society’s magazines?

You can submit an online renewal for National Geographic magazine. You can also renew NG Kids, Traveler, or Adventure. Do you offer a life membership in the National Geographic Society?

Life memberships are offered only to individuals who reside in the United States. Enrollment as a life member entitles you to receive monthly issues of National Geographic magazine during your entire lifetime.

The life membership fee is currently $850, and full payment is required before the life membership can be entered. A sales tax must also be added to the life membership fee for issues sent to Vermont (5 percent) and Kentucky (6 percent). A life membership can be entered in one name only. Once entered, a life membership is not transferable, nor is the fee refundable.

I have paid for my subscription, but my free gift hasn’t arrived. What should I do?

Delivery of the free gift promoted with your subscription usually takes six weeks after the receipt of payment. If it has been six weeks, please send us an e-mail explaining the situation, or call Customer Service at 800 NGS LINE (U.S. and Canada only) or +1 813 979 6845 (outside U.S. and Canada).
