Canyonlands National Park |
On its way through remote Canyonlands National Park, the Colorado River carries loads of rock away each century, subtly but continually changing the makeup of Utah’s largest national park. The Colorado meets the Green River here, and the Y shape they create slices the park into three distinct sections: a broad mesa, a canyon labyrinth, and a landscape of pinnacles. Few paved roads enter the park; hikers and those with four-wheel drive vehicles may catch a glimpse of coyotes, bighorn sheep, bobcats, or golden eagles.
