The centerpiece of Glen Canyon NRA is Lake Powell, 186 miles [299.3 kilometers] of the Colorado River backed up behind one of the world’s highest dams. The lake and the desert and canyons around it offer memorable experiences for boaters, anglers, hikers, and campers. Fishing for bass, black crappie, catfish, walleye available; trout thrive below the dam. Free dam tours. 1,245,855 acres [504,179.6 hectares], most in Utah.
