Grand Canyon National Park |

Oohs and ahs are some of the most frequent noises you’ll hear at the Grand Canyon, one of the seven natural wonders of the world. President Theodore Roosevelt said it was “the one great sight every American...should see,” and more than four million people do so every year. Some of the oldest rock on Earth lies at the bottom of the canyon, cut by the Colorado River, which continues to run through—and shape—the canyon. Adventurous visitors can hike or ride a mule to the bottom; visible along the way are old mines, fossils, and more. Hardy rafters can pass through the canyon on the Colorado.
