Adm. fee) Ruins stretching a mile [1.6 kilometers] sheltered ancestors of the Santa Clara Pueblo people from A.D. 1100 to the late 1500s. Some dwellings rose three stories inside cliff-wall caves. Top House, a pueblo of 740 rooms, crowns the mesa above. The pueblo is noted for its innovative pottery-making tradition.
