Positioned just south of Miami, this chain of more than 100 tropical islands attracts tourists in search of distinct sportfishing, diving, and local flavor. The most popular time to visit the Florida Keys is between December and May, when temperatures average 60-85°F [16-29°C] and there is little rainfall. Summer is very hot and humid, with thunderstorms almost daily. Hurricane season lasts from June 1 to November 30.
