In the brilliant blue waters of Baja California's Sea of Cortez, a diver glides alongside an enormous manta ray. Divers, surfers, fishermen, and boaters can all find idyllic spots along the 3,000-mile (4,828-kilometer) shoreline of the long peninsula. The waters of the Sea of Cortez, also known as the Gulf of California, are exceptionally warm all year, making Baja California a wonderful winter getaway.
