Education Network

Looking to expand your professional horizons? Our Education Network highlights national and local opportunities that include educator training, workshops and conferences, field studies for educators and their students, and more.
Outreach Programs
Education Outreach is part of the mission of the National Geographic Society's division of Education and Children's Programs (NGECP). Two of its most visible components are the Geography Action! program, a yearlong initiative that is highlighted during Geography Awareness Week each November, and EdNet, an online educators' network. In addition, Education Outreach develops educator professional-development programs and geography-related curricula both for classrooms and for nonformal education sites. We strive to tie together the educational offerings of the Society and those of our partners to effectively improve the geographic literacy of U.S. schoolchildren and to increase awareness in the general community.
