The Temple of Amun at Karnak includes a hypostyle hall, one of ancient Egypt's masterpieces. Twelve massive columns, nearly 70 feet (21 meters) tall, are surrounded by more than a hundred smaller columns—each 42 feet (13 meters) tall.
