Wheat is harvested in this detail from a painted relief in the tomb of Mererukaa symbol of the need for nourishment in the afterlife. With 32 chambers, Mereruka's flat-roofed mastaba tomb is the largest at Saqqara. He was vizier, or chief executive, to Pharaoh Teti, who died around 2291 B.C.
