Descending the Mountain

Three mummies are carried down Mount Llullaillaco in Argentina. Members of the American-Argentine-Peruvian archaeological team wrapped them in plastic, then covered them with snow and foam insulation to keep them frozen. The mummies were taken to the city of Salta, where CT scans showed little sign that the bodies had been buried for 500 years.
