申请人资格
美国国家地理空气与水保护基金仅向居华中国大陆公民开放,资助项目须在中国本土实施。我们鼓励项目申请人以英文提交申请材料,但预申请材料也可用中文提交。
申请人没有高学历要求限制,但须表现其具备显著的相关专业知识和经验水平。申请人还需要有合适的隶属机构。
资助额度视具体项目而定,但平均额度约为2万美元。资助款将主要用于项目实地产生的直接费用,但不资助只在实验室内开展的工作。
资助款使用要求
国家地理学会的资助款不可用于项目实施产生的间接费用、管理费或其它与项目实施本身无直接关联的费用。项目参与人员的工资及各项福利,同样不在资助之列。
设备购买申请一般不包括消费类电子产品(如电脑、相机等设备)。如项目确有特殊需求,国家地理学会将通过客观审核酌情考虑。资助的项目结束后,国家地理学会有权收回所购设备,并转给未来的获资助的申请人使用。
资助资金不得用于支付参加各种学术会议的差旅费、法律诉讼费、土地征用费、基金设立或捐助、建设永久性科研站或出版研究成果的版面费。
获得资助的科研人员须给予国家地理学会公开报道其研究成果的优先选择权。
项目申请
项目申请分为两个步骤
步骤1:预申请
要启动申请程序,项目负责人必须在线提交一份预申请表。预申请结果将在四周内通知申请人。如果预申请表得到批准,项目负责人即可参与正式申请。预申请使用中英文都可。
- 创建新的账户后,预申请表格可以经过多次填写、修改后提交。项目申请人可以保存申请进度,并在下次登陆时继续填写完成。
- 除了填写预申请表外,申请人必须同时提交一份电子版个人简历。

- 根据指示,完成该表格。
- 将填写完整的预申请表与个人简历以电子邮件的形式发至指定邮箱。
步骤2:正式申请
申请人申请人申请人在预申请获得通过后,申请人将接到邮件通知参与完成正式申请。在正式申请前,我们要求申请人就项目及特殊需求与我们的工作人员进行电话沟通。我们也希望申请人在提交正式申请前与我们讨论预算和项目设计等相关事宜,确保项目申请符合我们的资助要求。

曾经接受过国家地理项目资助的申请人如需申请新的资助,必须事先完成已有项目和财务报告之后,才能提交新的申请。
国家地理学会全年接受项目申请,项目评审采用滚动制。科学顾问委员会每年举行两次资助评审会议。如果申请人希望参与最新一轮的项目资助,请于2013年7月1日前提交项目预申请; 通过预申请的请于2013年7月31日前提交正式申请。
