Scientist Ted Fujita watches a tornado simulator

University of Chicago scientist Ted Fujita tends to a centrifuge that creates mini-tornadoes using water and dry ice. Fujita and his wife, Sumiko, developed the Fujita Scale to rate the intensity of tornadoes.
