| While dinosaur egg shells were first found in France in 1869, it was the heroic 1922 Gobi desert expedition of the American Museum of Natural History led by Roy Chapman Andrews that first drew worldwide attention to dinosaur nests and their contents. Andrewss team traveled in a grand caravan of eight open-air motorcars and 150 camels. His groundbreaking expedition was reported in the June 1933 issue of NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC.
