Brian Cooley is a Canadian artist who is more than a little familiar with the great beasts of the Cretaceous. When I was a child, I collected toy plastic dinosaurs (I still have all 63 of them) and built little environments for them, complete with working volcanoes and swamps. I also painted pictures of dinosaurs and built papier-mâché models. Cooley is shown working on a 1:10 scale model of a full-size Tyrannosaurus rex he built for the Alberta Travel Centre.
