Therizinosaurs were large, long-armed herbivorous
dinosaurs remarkable for their scythe-shaped claws, which they may have
used to rake leafy branches toward their mouths. They lived during the
early Cretaceous period and their arms and huge claws may have been ten
feet long. Not much is known about these unusual dinosaurs and we cannot
even be certain that either of our two embryos looked like this animal.
