In 1993 a nest found in Mongolia contained a fossilized Oviraptor  skeleton atop its eggs, and was featured in the July 1996 NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC article “Dinosaurs of the Gobi.” That amazing find was another in a long series of American Museum of Natural History expeditions to the rich fossil-bearing sands of Mongolia. Mark Norell, one of two paleontologists who led the team, feels this stunning fossil provides great insight into dinosaur nesting behavior.
