About Our Writer

Yancey HallHere at 18,300 feet (5576 m), the air is thin and my head aching. The mountain is Pichu Pichu in southern Peru. Our team—a group of Peruvian archaeologists and corporate sponsors from Bell Sygma of Canada—are led by high mountain archaeologists Johan Reinhard and José Antonio Chávez. We are on an expedition searching for Inca burial remains. For two weeks I’ll be tagging along with this bunch and feeding you daily accounts of our progress, headaches and all. I’m Yancey Hall, a producer at National Geographic Interactive. While I can’t promise what we’ll find, I guarantee you the adventure of a lifetime. Join me.
