Gilbert M. Grosvenor, Chairman
Chairman of the Board, National Geographic Society
Gilbert M. Grosvenor joined the Society as a picture editor in 1954, then rose to the rank of editor of National Geographic magazine in 1970 and president of the Society in 1980. He has been chairman of the Society since 1987.

Patrick F. Noonan, Vice Chairman
Chairman Emeritus, The Conservation Fund
Patrick Noonan is founder and Chairman Emeritus of The Conservation Fund, which under his leadership has pioneered a new approach to conservation based on collaboration, not confrontation.

John M. Fahey, Jr., President
President and CEO, National Geographic Society
Since joining National Geographic in 1996, John Fahey has spearheaded the launches of the National Geographic Channel and National Geographic Adventure and Explorer! magazines, as well as the international expansion of National Geographic magazine.

Daniel C. Edelson, Ph.D., Executive Director
Vice President, Education and Children's Programs, National Geographic Society
Danny Edelson is responsible for the Society's efforts to improve public understanding of geography and related disciplines through both formal and informal education programs. Before joining the Society, he was a professor of education and computer science at Northwestern University, where he founded the Geographic Data in Education (GEODE) Initiative.

A widely recognized leader in education, Dr. Martha Church holds ten honorary degrees and has served in leadership positions on a number of national boards and commissions.

President of Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI)
Jack Dangermond, founder and president, leads ESRI, the leading developer of geographic information systems (GIS) software, in its mission to provide users with comprehensive tools to help them quickly and efficiently manage and use geographic information to make a real difference in the world around them.

Terry D. Garcia
Executive Vice President, Mission Programs, National Geographic Society
Terry D. Garcia is responsible for the Society's core mission programs: the Committee for Research and Exploration, the Geographic Education Outreach program, the Education Foundation, and the Society's Development Office, Explorers Hall museum, and lecture program.

Charles O. Holliday, Jr.
Chairman and CEO, DuPont
Chad Holliday is the Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of DuPont. Under his direction, DuPont has pursued a mission of sustainable growth—increasing shareholder and societal value while decreasing the company's environmental footprint.

James C. Kautz
James C. Kautz was a partner at Goldman Sachs & Co and founder and partner of Sage Capital Management Corporation. He was also a founding investor in the Boston Beer Company.

Gary E. Knell
President and Chief Executive Officer, Sesame Workshop
Gary E. Knell leads the nonprofit educational organization Sesame Workshop in its mission to create innovative, engaging content to maximize the educational power of all media to help children reach their potential.

Floretta Dukes McKenzie
Senior Advisor, The American Institute for Research
Floretta Dukes McKenzie is the founder of The McKenzie Group, Inc., an educational consulting firm, and served as president for the firm prior to working for the American Institute for Research (AIR). Before founding The McKenzie Group, Inc. in 1988, she served as superintendent for the District of Columbia Public Schools for seven years. She currently serves on several corporate and not for profit boards.

William K. Reilly
William K. Reilly has served as Administrator of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and he has also been the President and Chairman of the World Wildlife Fund.

Alex Trebek
Host, JEOPARDY!
JEOPARDY! and National Geographic Bee host Alex Trebek has appeared in over 70 movies and television shows and this year won his fourth Emmy for Outstanding Game Show Host.
