Electronic Field Trip
Educators can bring the excitement of migrating shorebirds to students with this interactive television program for grades 4-8, from the Prince William Network. Students can follow Maya, a Western Sandpiper, on her exciting journey from Mexico to Alaska. The free program includes a Web component with classroom activities on shorebirds, wetlands, and migration.

This event, now in its eleventh year, takes place on the second Saturday in May. The American Birding Association runs the program, which focuses this year on protecting and providing habitats for migrating birds.
