Calvin McCarter, 10, of Jenison, Michigan, is the 2002 National Geographic Bee champion. Second place went to 14-year-old Matthew Russell of Bradford, Pennsylvania, and third place was 14-year-old Erik Miller from Kent, Washington.

Calvin is in the 5th grade and is homeschooled. He plays the piano, loves playing soccer and enjoys baseball. He also collects stamps.
