2003 National Geographic World Championship

American Team Captures the Gold

Beating 17 other teams, the United States captured the gold medal at the sixth National Geographic World Championship. The German team took the silver medals, and the French took the bronze medals. Alex Trebek, host of the U.S. television quiz show Jeopardy!, moderated the finals. The next World Championship is planned for 2005 with many more teams participating.
