Dam Site Inspection

Visit a local dam and reservoir. Take notes about the areas above and below the dam.

  • What does the land look like?
  • What trees, shrubs, and grasses are found there?
  • What do people do for a living there?
  • How fast is the water moving? How cold is it? Is it clear or full of sediment?
  • What animal tracks can you find?
After investigating the area, discuss how it would be different without the dam.

When you get home, create a scrapbook about your exploration.
