William Clark

Sonny Surowiec as William Clark

Although he had limited experience in cartography when he joined the expedition in 1803, William Clark emerged as a skilled mapmaker. The compass readings he took at each twist and turn contributed to the first map of what would become the U.S. West, which Clark completed in
February 1806.
