October 1, 1804, along the Cheyenne River, South Dakota.
 

Description
A member of the sagebrush family, usually a shrub.
 

Habitat
Mesic to dry sites in the steppe vegetation zone.
 

Range
Throughout Montana, Dakotas, Wyoming, and Colorado.
