May 6, 1806, on the Clearwater River, Idaho.
Deciduous with narrow, elongated leaves that are hairless and somewhat sticky. Bears clusters of small, bright yellow flowers in late summer.
A variety of habitats, but are most abundant in areas with sandy soils.
