July or August 1804, Upper Missouri River.
 

Description
Perennial growing to 2 ft (0.6m). Long thin stalks with ovate leaves; small purplish white flowers in clusters.
 

Habitat
Dry prairies and hills; prefers light (sandy) and medium (loamy) soils and requires well-drained soil.
 

Range
Iowa to North Dakota, Kansas, Arizona and British Columbia.
