Back to the Land
Toting a teddy bear, Faye Vido shows three-year-old Fairlight how to plant vegetable seed. I spent about a week with Peter and Faye and their three children in Lower Kintore, New Brunswick. Without electricity or modern conveniences, they strive to simplify their lifestyle to be in harmony with the land. In the evenings, after tending the donkeys, sheep, chickens, and geese, the family often reads to each other. I sent them a copy of my book, in which they appear. In return, they sent me homespun yarn for a sweater.
