First name: Alex and Andy
Age: 9
State or province: Pennsylvania
Country: U.S.A.

We are identical twins. We do everything together!! Our teachers couldn't tell us apart until this year when one of us got glasses and the other one broke his leg. Now everyone knows who is who!! When Alex broke his leg, Andy's leg hurt so badly he had to take Advil for the pain! We love each other very much.(Mom says we fight too much--but that's not true!)

I have a best friend who is an identical twin. We went to camp, and not long ago we went to Rome, Italy, together. Twins are fun; it's like having two best friends and seeing double. My friends are really fun. The only diffrence about them is they put their hair in different styles. If you have a twin friend you are really lucky. Thank you for being great friends Sylvia and Dorothy!

I'M AN IDENTICAL TRIPLET. I WAS BORN A MINUTE BEFORE MY SISTER JESSICA, AND JESSICA WAS BORN A MINUTE BEFORE JACQUI. WE ARE THIRTEEN, AND WE HAVE A SISTER NAMED JUDI WHO'S 11, A SISTER NAMED JOANNA WHO'S 8, AND A LITTLE BROTHER NAMED JUSTIN WHO'S 5. MY PARENTS GET MY SISTERS AND ME MIXED UP A LOT, BUT WE DON'T DRESS ALIKE. IT'S NICE COMING FROM A BIG FAMILY EVEN THOUGH WE DO FIGHT QUITE OFTEN. WE'VE NEVER TRIED SWITCHING PLACES BUT APRIL FOOL'S DAY IS COMING UP ...

First name: Nathaniel
Age: 13
State or province: Ohio
Country: U.S.A.

I am a male twin, and my twin's name is Philip. We also have the same experiences when we both think or feel the same way. When we were toddlers learning to speak, we made up our own words and communicated. Then, we would run off and do whatever we discussed. One time when Phil and I were in little league baseball, I suddenly heard the words "foul ball" as I was leaving a field. I got hit by the foul ball in the back of the neck. I fell to the ground crying. After a while I was fine. Phil claims that he felt something on the back of his neck too. He looked down and saw a baseball laying on the ground. Strange, isn't it? Also, my parents didn't know this at the time they named us, but in the Bible Philip brought Nathaniel to meet Jesus. Isn't that weird? And sometimes when Phil is sad about something, I feel sad too until he feels better. I was excited to read your twins article; and Phil and I have had most of the same experiences you describe. For example like Annie and Elizabeth, we are both right-handed and wear contact lenses. Our hair looks the same. We lost our baby teeth around the same time. Although I have never had a cavity Phil has. Rarely we have a 'twin' psychic connection. I'll be thinking of a song in my head, and then Phil will start singing it out loud. And if we are discussing something, we sometimes use the same words to describe something, or we use each other's ideas. Thanks for your time!!

First name: Ashley
Age: 11
State or province: Texas

Something weird happens with my twin Allison and me. We have the same tastes, we talk at the same time all the time, and often we use all the same words. We also feel each other's pain. When she is sick, I am sick; when she feels bad emotionally, I feel bad because I know that she feels bad. Even though we are fraternal twins, we are basically the same.

First name: David
Age: 10

My cousins are twins. They live in Missouri though, so I don't get to see them much. Do you want to know how I tell them apart? One always wears darker colors than the other.

First name: Kelly and Katie
Age: 14
State or province: New Hampshire
Country: U.S.A.

Katie and I are fraternal twins and you can tell. Even though we are fraternal, our teachers get us mixed up all the time. Some people have a hard time believing that we are twins at all. We think that it is cool to be a twin, and we feel very privileged.

First name: Matt and Tim
Age: 14
State or province: California
Country: U.S.A.

One thing that strikes interest to me is the way my twin brother Tim and I had a "terror" word for my mom. We would screem RAAA-VEEE and our mom knew instant trouble. We had our own link of communications, and we did certain "jobs". For instance, I would unlatch the door, and Tim would open it. But one day after we had just taken a bath, our mom made the fateful mistake of using the bathroom. We opened the front door and with an interesting since of communication (we hadn't learned to talk yet) ran outside screaming "raw vee" as loud as we could and then split directions. Our neighbor had to help nab us and bring us back.

Once I broke my leg at school and when I fell over, I looked at my watch...it was 12:24 pm. On the otherside of the playground I heard someone screaming... it was my brother. We both broke our legs at the exact same time. It was really freaky, but it was nice to have someone to go through the pain I was going through.

I am a twin. My identical sister's name is Mayanna. We look the same, and we act the same. We like to dress the same, and when we do people can't tell us apart. We both have diabetes. We are best friends.

First name: Gabriella
Age: 15
State or province: Budapest
Country: Hungary

I have a twin too. She is a girl. Her name is Anna, and she is the older (about 5 minutes). Our parents and the doctor didn't know that we were two. When we were born, the doctor said, "Oh God, it's GEMINI."

First name: Courtney and Alexandra Brown
Age: 8
State or province: N.S.W.
Country: Australia

Some times being a twin is really cool. But you have a lot of fights. My sister and I sleep in the same room, but she snores and she says that I grind my teeth. We are both in year 3 and our teacher's name is Miss Bini. When we were born our grandparents and all our family members thought that we would be 2 boys, but our mum thought we were going to be girls and we were girls. We are not identical but people still get us mixed up. Our dad gets us mixed up too. Sometimes Courtney wears something that I want to wear but I change my clothes so she can't wear the same thing as me.

First name: Tiffany
Age: 8
State or province: Georgia
Country: USA

My favorite twins are Mary Kate and Ashley. They do crazy things and I like their books. My favorite is 202 clues.i can never tell the difference between them, but they are very good actors. I am going to join their fan club someday.

First name: Jennifer
Age: 17
State or province: Michigan
Country: U.S.A.

My sister and I are identical twins. People say we look alike, but there is an "eyeball" difference. I, unlike my sister, have slanty eyes and a double chin. She has round eyes and no double chin. We are direct opposites. She's a lot smarter than I am, but I'm more artistic than she is; so I guess you could say we have equal amounts of talent. We are both seniors in high school. She plays the flute, and I play the violin. I love to dress like twins, and she hates it. She'd rather be caught dead than go out of the house wearing the same outfit. She doesn't like people staring at her. On the other hand, I don't mind. I go out of the house looking like I got dressed in the closet! Her favorite color is green, and mine is yellow. I don't know how I would get along without her. Sure we fight, but we usually get over it in about five minutes. She's my best friend, and I'll always love her no matter what.

First name: Nancy

I am the mother of 12-year-old girls. They are the joy of my life. Every physician I saw said I would never be able to have a child. After loosing two, God blessed me with twins. I guess I fooled those physicians. I'm now very sure God has a sense of humor. He was so tired of hearing me say "I want a baby," that he said "here, have two and be quiet." Well, the last 12 years have been anything but quiet. Thank you God!!!

Hi, I am not a twin, but I would like to know what it would be like!

First name: Bart
Age: 33
State or province: South Dakota
Country: U.S.A.

I have a twin brother. We are fraternal twins and are complete opposites. He is much more outgoing, and I am more reserved. He also looks much older with gray hair.

First name: Bethany
Age: 11
State or province: Alaska
Country: U.S.A.

I'm a fraternal twin. My brother is opposite from me in every way. The only thing that we have in common is our glasses. He looks Chinese but he's not. It's just the Cherokee in him. Being a twin is not too bad except when my twin gets on my nerves. We are in the same classroom too. He was born first, but everyone thinks I was because I'm taller and weigh more.

First name: Gina
Age: 34
State or province: Alaska
Country: U.S.A.

I am the mother of twins. Not only did I not ask for twins, but I was misinformed! I have younger sisters who are identical twins, and they are supposed to skip a generation. They obviously didn't. I have enjoyed my twins since they were born. My daughter is eleven going on twenty, and my son is eleven going on eight. They are total opposites in every way. Every day with them is a new and wonderful adventure. I wouldn't mind having twin grandchildren in the future!

First name: Jeri
Age: 45
State or province: California
Country: U.S.A.

My twins are nine years old now and I love being the mother of twins. I love the bond they share. Our friends call them our mega twins because they were very big at birth and have continued to grow and grow and grow. They are also very identical. They weighed exactly the same at birth. They were 9lbs 1oz each, and they were both 21 1/2 inches long. Their doctor said he had never seen twins that were so much alike. The only thing that bothers me is the way the kids at school don't even try to tell them apart. Their names are Jon and Evan, but the kids just call them Jonevan. Other than that, I truly enjoy them and would have loved another set of twins if I had started younger.

First name: Harsha
Age: 21
State or province: Virginia

When I was younger I knew a pair of twins who switched classes on April Fools' Day. They got into big trouble and were suspended. They would have gotten away with the switch except that someone called one of twins by her sister's name, and the twin forgot and responded that she wasn't the sister.

First name: Megan
Age: 12
State or province: Bequia
Country: St. Vincent and the Grenadines

In the Caribbean, I see many different pairs of twins. They are mostly non-identical twins. I know a pair of twins, and it's very funny because one is in my class and the other is two classes ahead of him. Not only that, but they look totally different. I find it very strange. If you saw them, you would think it's very strange too.

First name: Tara

I have a twin brother named Matthew. We were born on Halloween, and my dad calls us Trick and Treat.

First name: Sara and Amy
Age: 15
State or province: Ohio
Country: U.S.A.

Sara & I are identical twins. We act nothing alike though. We have completely different friends, listen to different kinds of music, and dress differently. But we love each other, and that's the most important thing in the world!

First name: Dolphin
Age: 16
State or province: Ohio

My best friend has a twin who wanted to test her boyfriend to see how well he knew her. Sad to say, he failed. He kissed my friend and he didn't know the difference. Needless to say my friend's twin wasn't very happy.

First name: Janette
Age:
State or province: Ontario
Country: Canada

I am a twin. My sister Annette does not look like me. She is taller and larger boned. We have the same color hair. My eyes are brown and hers are blue. I often say I am older and wiser because I was born first. I weighed 3 pounds at birth, and she weighed 5 pounds. I had a rough start, but I held on. We are both proud of each other's accomplishments in life.

First name: Megan
Age: 7
State or province: California
Country: U.S.A.

I KNOW THESE TWINS WHO ARE GIRLS. THEIR NAMES ARE NAIOMI AND NIOMI. ONE TWIN HAD TO WEAR A JACKET WHEN WE WENT OUT TO PLAY. OTHERWISE WE COULDN'T TELL WHO WAS WHO.

First name: Kate
Age: 13 1/2
State or province: Oklahoma

My cousins are twins, and when they were born they looked so cute. One time we got them mixed up; it was terrible!

First name: Cate
Age: 12
State or province: Colorado
Country: U.S.A.

In first grade I knew a pair of twins. The ONLY way you could tell them apart is when one wore pants and the other a dress or skirt!

First name: Hannah
Age: 7
State or province: New Mexico
Country: U.S.A.

My twin sister's name is Sarah. We are identical twins. We do everything alike. It sure is fun having a best friend to play with. We had hydrocephalus, which is water on the brain, when we were born. My parents and friends prayed, and God healed us. We can run and play with our friends.

First name: Lori
Age: 24
State or province: Michigan

I have identical girls who are two years old. They are not the same in personality at all, although they look just alike looking in the mirror.

First name: Michael
Age: 9
State or province: City of London
Country: United Kingdom

My brother Sean and I are fraternal twins. We are not alike at all, in fact we are exact opposites in both looks and nature. I am blonde and blue-eyed, while Sean is darker in his colouring. He is very wacky and creative, while I like sports and maths.
