Sentinel Rock
The dramatic granite spire of Sentinel Rock reflects in a pool in California's Yosemite National Park. In 1864, President Lincoln declared Yosemite Valley a public trust, the first time the federal government had acted to protect lands for public enjoyment. It was made a national park in 1890.
