Texaco Hill, Kansas
Meandering valleys trace grooves into Texaco Hill in the Flint Hills of Kansas. Part of the Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve, the expanse of the Flint Hills is the last of its kind—of the 140 million acres (60 million hectares) of tallgrass prairies that once blanketed North America 95 percent have disappeared.
