In July of 2009, the Enduring Voices team traveled to Papua New Guinea, which lies in the Western Melanesia hotspot and has greatest single concentration of linguistic diversity on Earth, with 830 listed languages identified thus far.
The Enduring Voices Project represents a partnership between National Geographic Mission Programs and the Living Tongues Institute for Endangered Languages.
