Reza describes his photography:

"The many roads I have traveled in my lifetime have led to my meeting children, women and men whose individual destinies made a deep impression on me. I am close to every one of them, feeling their suffering as well as their joy. I tell their stories as human beings trapped in the turmoil of the world through the universal language of photography. Beyond borders, cultural diversity, and bloody wars, my images do not only give a sad report of shattered lives. They also testify to a smile behind tears, beauty behind tragedy, and life stronger than death. This exhibition gives me the opportunity to tell the story of the human family, our family."

His work for National Geographic, other leading news organizations, and humanitarian groups in many of the world's trouble spots have given him a chance to share his insights on our collective humanity and the shared moments that give life meaning.
