   Blinded by blizzards, two groups of explorers struggled over a harsh frozen landscape in 1911. One group was led by Norwegian explorer Roald Amundsen, the other by Capt. Robert Falcon Scott, a British naval officer. Each wanted to be the first to reach the South Pole.
