In May the latest wild water ride opened at Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari in a town called Santa Claus (really!), in Indiana, U.S.A. It’s so new that it hasn’t been officially rated yet. The 102-foot-tall (31 meters) ZOOMbabwe (small picture) is the largest ride of its kind. It’s an 887-foot-long (270 meters) purple tube from beginning to end. It’s completely dark inside the tunnel. While you rip along in one of the ride’s rafts with four other people, you can’t see a thing. “It’s really fast, and you don’t know where you’re going,” says Zachary, 11, of Illinois, U.S.A. He’s one of ZOOMbabwe’s new fans. Says Zachary, “Sometimes it feels like you’re going so high up the side of the tunnel that you’ll just take off like a flying saucer.”
